July 2000: Benni, a 19-year-old apprentice forester, skidded off the road on his way to work and crashed into a tree.
Due to his serious internal injuries the doctors put him into an artificial coma from which he didn’t awake. They believed he had next-to-no chance of recovery. The film reconstructs the day when Benni escaped from the prison of his coma. It shows the long struggle of friends and relatives until, what the doctors described as “a miracle”, happened. And it will show that miracles, too, have their price: Benni has returned to life, but it is a life very different to the one he used to dream of.
