Synopsis
Dogs, horses, donkeys, clubs and ringing mobile phones: this is Petis, a remote village in Transylvania. Romania is officially an EU member and modernity is causing a clash between generations.
The story centres around Albin, a content young shepherd practicing his inherited
trade which comes under threat as his brother and friends migrate for seasonal work to Germany. Scenes of intense emotion are juxtaposed against the slow pace of the shepherds’ routine, as the film reflects on a year of change in the village and asks what is quality of life, progress and prosperity?
