Synopsis
Bletzi Bletzi (Moroccan for ´Wait, Wait´) takes us into the impenetrable world of a Moroccan family. Built up in sequences which each broach another aspect of this culture (such as Religion, Men and Women´s worlds, Marriage, Corruption, Moroccans and foreigners, emigration,...), Bletzi Bletzi... doesn´t want to be a pure description of a foreign culture, but rather create a confrontation and an investigation of the borders between the Arabic and the Western world. Through conversations and interviews, light is shed on the underlying structures of their lifestyle. Each of the different sequences is carried by one of the characters, who in their turn can be present in other sequences. Moroccan/Arabic culture is very often associated with concepts such as fundamentalism, problems of migration and oppression of women. Bletzi Bletzi... wants to break up these stereotypes from within.
