A poetic road movie that sketches a portrait of Brussels and its population, by means of a tramway that crosses the most diverse communities.
Every day, tram 18 takes its passengers along an 18-kilometre tour through Brussels. To some conductors, it’s ‘a line where you can taste life’. To others, it’s ‘filthy and dangerous’.
For one day we ride along, passing people, taking a glimpse at their lives. Sometimes amused, careless, loving, worried or critical.And the conductor... I started to appreciate Brussels in all of its chaos and multiplicity. In this chaos, the tram brings people together, albeit undesired, and unveils the wealth that a city as Brussels has on offer in terms of cultural diversity.’
